Extremely poor customer service with zero responsibility for mistakes by Richard Klepper, 6/24/2004 Came into store to have a battery replaced in my Swiss Army/Swiss Air Force watch (also had a family ring cleaned/buffed for a charge.) I was satisfied with the friendlyness and initial service provided that day.. mostly because it seems they were trying to get additional business. I went swimming the following day with my watch on and working (this watch is listed on the back to be capable of depths of up to 330ft). Moisture entered the watch, the watch immediately stopped working. I brought the watch back to the store and the watch technician attempted to blow out the water as the store clerk talked with me and as it became more and more clear to her and myself that blowing out the moisture out of the watch wasn't going to correct the problem. She then attempted to place the blame on me! I told her I hadn't had any problems with the watch until I took it to them. Long story short this store will not take any reponsibility for not sealing this watch (a $675) properly when the battery was replaced. No options were given to me as a consumer. No attempt was made by them saying.. "yes, we'll send it in to swiss army to find out what the problem is" (when i reminded them they were an authorized swiss army dealer with a sign in there window.. they only they they could say as a response is... 'well, we're trying to get out of that'. I intend to take every avenue to make sure the public is awareof their lack of customer service and the fact that they will not take any type of responsibility if anything goes wrong because of their lack of expertice and or knowledge. This jeweler in my mind has a total lack of integrity and is not an establishment to do business with. |
